No
I've never been thrown out early...
Yes, they do !!
I would call the restaurant...there were for sale signs up in August
They have a facebook page and usually post holiday schedules and specials there.
Joe is a piece of history...been here forever. No racism...just awesome Come on up! It's an awesome exlerience!😁😁😁
Great food. Very good salads and burgers. Good service and very authentic atmosphere
Great food, cool vibe, well worth the visit
Great food, great service. A must stop!
This place is a historical gem and worthwhile going to for ambiance, good food and service whether you are a traveler or a local. Some of the steaks are a bit overpriced but if you want a good steak for a reasonable price get the steak sandwich. I've had their expensive steaks as well and the steak sandwich steak was actually better and reasonable for what you got. Also take a tour of the old opera house if you go. It's something to see for sure.
Really cool bar and restaurant been there twice so far every time i get the green chile cheese frys. Maybe next time i will try something else
Great atmosphere and wonderful offerings to match. You won't be disappointed.
Worth the stop and tour but a bit claustrophobic. Interesting. Knowledgeable friendly guide. Pleasant shady landscape.
We make it a point to come here every time we are in town. Excellent food and service, great live entertainment, and a fantastic location make this restaurant a required stop if you are in Silver City.
Had a great family meal. Everyone enjoyed their food. Staff was very courteous and helpful. The opera house next door is very impressive.
I love the old timey atmosphere with a modern air.
Prime rib and filet were terrific. Historic building is a must see. Worth the extra bucks for the meal and more importantly to take in the old west that is Silver City
Great historic restaurant with tasty food.
The Buckhorn in Pinos Altos just outside of Silver City New Mexico should be on your list of stops if you are close. An old west bar (saloon) from the 1800s with a nice restaurant menu. It takes you back in time and makes you want a nice shot of Whiskey...
Everything was wonderful as always, EXCEPT the steak. We had the surf and turf special. Very nice crab leg. But the steak was a very thin piece of tenderized meat. I'm not sure what it was. That's not a steak that should ever be served at the Buckhorn. Very disappointed. Great waitress. Great fireplace.
We played an open mic there on a Monday night and it was a fabulous experience! We didn't have the food, but the drinks were reasonably priced. The service was great atmosphere also good
Another wonderful evening in this fabulous, warm, friendly and welcoming great place.Food was superb, music was superb, fire blazing and as a lone traveller I was made to feel at home and part of the crowd. The building is historically amazing and the decor is fun and creates great atmosphere.
The food was great. The green chili stew was tasty. It did have a kick! The French fries were fabulous. The ambiance is interesting.
They were very busy, the service was pretty slow. The food was great
Great place to enjoy your friends and family with good food and drink
Classic old west decor and vibe!! Excellent food and atmosphere.
One of the best places to eat near silver City (aprox 15min). It's a place that used to be a Saloon...Food:Green Chile chicken Alfredo or Prime Filet mignon Drinks:Malbec Lunta (Argentina) Porto kopke tawny Port (the best)Dessert:Chocolate Peanut butter cake: the best cake I tried in my life.Total: ~60 per person
Six of us enjoyed a fabulous corn beef & cabbage meal. Miranda served us cocktails first, then the huge platters of savory food. Highly recommend visiting the Buckhorn in Pinos Altos, NM
Very much enjoyed this dinner. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting, chilly evening with a nice hot fire going. Special thanks to the staff that kept my hat for me when I left it behind.
This was the first time I've eaten there but I was impressed. The restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and food was good.
Great food and atmosphere! The clam chowder is delicious. We just had the special mussels and the sauce was so tasty!! About to order dessert! A definite must see if you're in the area.
Our first trip to Silver City, heard this place was supposed to be amazing and decided to try it. Unfortunately, the prices are high for a less than mediocre cuisine. Steaks were salty and over cooked with a less than par service. The “medium-rare” is medium to medium-well and tough to cut. The waitress forgot to have the “green chili sauce” (NM is famous for its green chilies) added to the steak and then brought out a very small amount as a side. The chili’s were probably the best part of the meal and certainly not enough to cover the steak as a sauce. We were never asked how everything was, in fact, we didn’t see the waitress again until it was time for the check. I certainly don’t mind paying high prices for a great meal, but I would never recommend this venue for steak. Atmosphere was fun, as it’s an old Saloon, and they had a band playing in the bar, which seemed to do well.
The dining room was cold, even though there was a fireplace, it was not being used. The food was not as good as it could have been.
Good food. I wish they would remove the "Indian Joe" maniquine sitting with a whiskey bottle. It's a very poor representation of any indigenous tribe.
Super fun. This historic saloon in the Gila Forest was wonderful. You can feel the history when entering. Great food and service. The opera house and wall photos are incredible. Loved it.
This place is a historical gem that serves good food at reasonable prices with the exception of the higher priced steaks. For those steaks I'd save it for Cattleman's in El Paso. The steak sandwich has a great steak for a reasonable price. If you are a traveler it's a must see if you are visiting Silver City. If you do visit make sure you take a tour of the old opera house connected to the building. It's really a special place.
Always 5 star food &service
Be aware that the food is mediocre at best and some of the entrees are ridiculously expensive. Hint: if you order the steak sandwich you get an actual steak at half price. The atmosphere is good to the left and boring to the right. The people watching is amazing as the locals are uniquely oblivious to their bizaarness. It is worth a trip once or twice but then it gets stale very quickly.
Don't be fooled by the appearance of the outside, very nice on inside. The food is amazing.
Worth a visit. Historic with tasty food, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their food, the shop of the day was especially tasty. Steaks were cooked to order, and fish was not over cooked. Good tap list for being out there. Plenty of parking. Sitting near the main door can be a little drafty on a cool evening.
We sat in the bar and had great burgers and some of the best onion rings we’ve ever had. The service was very good and a friendly staff. There was also some really good live music. A lot of history and character here and don’t forget to check out the opera house next door!
Food was good, even though it was placed at another table, plates handled by multiple guests, before we stood up and said it was the order for our table (yuk!). Possibly the worst service we've had. Took 25 minutes to get a drink/food order. Borrowed a menu. No water refills. Took 30 minutes to get our check, and we had to ask for it. Hope this was an off night. We won't return.Live music was very good.
The staff is awesome as soon as you walk in if your a little sensitive to energy use caution cause you will feel something amazing bar and lots of history
This place is beyond amazing. The food was great the staff was amazing. Thanks guys keep it up
Great steak and coconut-curry mahi-mahi! Our 1st time and it won't be our last! We're hopefully moving here! For a great presentation, order the Top Shelf Margarita!
Don't let the outside fool you, this old saloon hides an enormous interior with an authentic rugged old west flair. The menu however is far from rugged with a number of delicious fine dining choices. The place has a ton of history about the area displayed in photos and decorations throughout, as well as the still functioning opera house attached to the saloon. Definitely a must visit in Silver City!
This little gem is well worth the short drive from Silver City. The history alone supports this thought. Stepping in the door is surreal to say the least. The saloon is warm and inviting and the bustle of kitchen staff is certainly a surprising sight. The menue is brilliant and everything looked and smelled amazing. We had not planned to stop so did not bring an appetite sadly... I explored the building and adjoining Opera house after the bartender invited me to do so. It is stunning. Put this on your travel agenda for sure, and without having dined I would risk the suggestion to visit with an empty stomach!
Worst meal of a 14 day trip. I had a steak and my wife had shrimp. Both were way below parr. Service was good, but she couldn’t make up for tasteless food.
Our blues rock band performed at the Buckhorn Saloon for the event "A Run 4 Life", biker run - Children with Kidney disease ... the Buckhorn Saloon was one of the venues, great place to play, great staff, great hospitality ... Aces
Heard the food is good but wouldn't k ow after sitting in am empty dining room for 10 minutes and not even acknowleged we left will not go back terrible service
This place was cute and the old west vibe was cool. There was live music in the bar which was good. The services was ok, but the food was somewhat disappointing. The coconut curry was pretty good. The chicken was tasty, but quite dry. The prime rib was over cooked and pretty tasteless.
Today driving back from Ruidoso, NM we had to stop at the Buckhorn Saloon and try the food. Our daughter and son-in-law raved about how good it was. My wife and I weren't disappointed. We split the patty melt and onion rings. We were curious about the history of the Buckhorn and the owner came over and spent some time answering our questions. The staff were very pleasant. We will be going back. I want to try the Green Chile cheeseburger.
This place is a great little hidden gem. If you have the time it's totally worth the trip. The history , ambiance and nostalgia are great and so is the food
Old historic building with great food. I had the mixed greens salad with chicken. My spouse had the hatch chicken and pasta. For dessert we shared the grand Mariner chocolate torte which just melted in my mouth. The service was also good. I told one of the chefs how good everything was. Also a nice drive to the location. Watch out for deer. Plenty around.
Great atmosphere and good food. Decent live music on the weekends.
